MiniCPM Global Ambassador Program launches: seeking the first cohort of open-source AI ecosystem builders

What is the coolest thing about an open-source project?

Not how many more Stars it has on GitHub.

It's that someone built a new application on top of it;

someone wrote a tutorial that helps more developers get started quickly;

someone shared their experience in the community and helped another person solve a problem;

someone turned an idea into a product running in the real world.

The real vitality of open source comes from every person willing to create and share.

In the past, more and more developers have explored on-device AI, multimodal applications, and agent scenarios with MiniCPM.

Now we want to invite more developers to join us and share these practices with a wider audience.

The MiniCPM Global Ambassador Program is officially launching, with an initial cohort of 20 developer ambassadors.

If you love open source, are willing to share technical practice, and want to be part of a fast-growing AI open-source community, we look forward to meeting you.

You're joining more than a project — you're joining an open-source AI movement

A MiniCPM Ambassador is a bridge between developers, the community, and the research and engineering team.

As an ambassador, you can:

🚀 Turn your AI ideas into real projects

🌍 Bring your technical content to developers worldwide

🤝 Talk directly with the MiniCPM core team

🔥 Become an important voice in the global MiniCPM community

We're looking for people who:

love tinkering with AI,

are willing to share experience,

and believe open source can create more possibilities.

We're looking for: 01 Community builder

You are good at planning and organizing offline and online activities such as meetups, workshops, and hackathons, and enjoy guiding discussions and setting the tone in communities like Discord, X, and Reddit. You are the core link that brings local developers together and connects them to the global community.

02 Technical practitioner

You have built applications and real-world case studies with the MiniCPM series, and are happy to contribute code or solve practical problems. You are not just a user but a creator, willing to push the project forward with technical output.

03 Mission advocate

You identify with MiniCPM's open-source philosophy of "putting large models as close to users as possible," are good at sharing open-source ecosystem ideas and hands-on experience, and are happy to listen to and relay developers' real feedback and suggestions for improvement. You are a fellow traveler who connects the community's voice with the product team and helps the project keep evolving.

What can you do as an ambassador? 🌱 Track 1: Community governance

Regularly organize meetups, workshops, or hackathons to energize the local tech scene

As a community core, lead the operation of platforms such as WeChat, Discord, and Slack, fostering a culture of mutual learning through daily discussion, themed sharing, and mentoring newcomers

Represent MiniCPM at local tech conferences and open-source salons to raise brand influence

Plan and promote online/offline community events to attract more developers to the ecosystem

🛠️ Track 2: Technical evangelism

Create MiniCPM-related content (such as cookbooks, demo cases, and comparative evaluations)

Build open-source projects with MiniCPM models and share them on X, Medium, Reddit, and other platforms

Advance the adaptation and optimization of MiniCPM on on-device hardware, and demo it live at meetups or tech conferences

📣 Track 3: Shaping model iterations

Collect local developers' real pain points, needs, and usage scenarios with MiniCPM projects

Take part in early testing of new versions and models, and give the official team product and model improvement suggestions based on real use

🤝 Track 4: Becoming a community guide

Exchange local community-building experience, technical findings, and event outcomes in a dedicated community

Recommend and mentor new ambassador candidates to help the community keep growing

Join regular online exchanges to foster cross-regional collaboration and a global perspective
